Sri Lankan-Australian Creative OG DOCG Launches ‘CARTOONS BY DOCG’

The Sri Lankan-Australian multidisciplinary creative DOCG’s latest project – ‘CARTOONS BY DOCG’ – runs at Oshi Gallery (Melbourne) from 23 June to 25 June.

DOCG is the OG. For over a decade, the artist, designer, creative director, photographer, and stylist has been creating prolifically in Melbourne’s western melting pot.

The Sri Lankan-Australian multi-hyphenate creative has collaborated with iconic brands like New Balance, Reebok, and Butter Goods and exhibited his work across the globe. And this Friday, 23 June 2023, DOCG will drop his latest nostalgia-laced, groundbreaking project — ‘CARTOONS BY DOCG’ — at Oshi Gallery in Melbourne/Naarm’s north.

The CARTOONS BY DOCG project is a multi-layered campaign which applies multidisciplinary applications. It is integrated in one cohesive project that develops and presents various creative outcomes with the objective to develop the DOCG universe. This project encompasses a range of outcomes, including an animated cartoon, clothing, digital artworks (NFTs), sculptures, and short videos.

If you haven’t heard of DOCG, then prepare your peepers to be treated (literally). If you have heard of DOCG, also prepare your peepers to be treated (also, literally).

‘CARTOONS BY DOCG’ opens at 6.00 PM on 23 June 2023 at Oshi Gallery (386 Smith St, Collingwood VIC). The exhibition and pop-up will run until 25 June 2023.

For those beyond the reach of Melbourne/Naarm, fear not. ‘CARTOONS BY DOCG’ will be available online on 28 June 2023. And keep an eye out for pop-ups sprouting in Japan, extending DOCG’s global footprint.
